Summary
The state’s certified results for the August 18, 2026 primary, retrieved as the Division’s own county-by-candidate data extract plus its turnout report. This is the corpus’s first official record for the two Florida races it tracks, and it closes two gaps at once.
U.S. Senate, Democratic primary (special election, remainder of the Rubio term). Angie Nixon 705,835 votes (56.06%) to Alex Vindman 553,138 (43.94%), on 1,258,973 ballots cast in the race: a margin of 152,697 votes, or 12.1 points. All 67 counties report full precincts. Nixon carried the large Democratic counties: Broward 57.4%, Miami-Dade 59.6%, Hillsborough 57.6%, Orange 68.1%, and her home county Duval 80.2%. Vindman’s one big-county win was Palm Beach (57,773 to 46,448, 55.4%). The Republican primary the same day: Ashley Moody 1,320,780 (79.56%) over three minor candidates on 1,660,013 ballots, so about 400,000 more Republicans than Democrats voted in their Senate primary.
U.S. House, District 25, Democratic primary. Jared Moskowitz 28,330 (63.48%) to Oliver Larkin 16,301 (36.52%), on 44,631 ballots; margin 12,029 votes, 26.96 points. The district spans Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties (236 precincts, all reporting). The Republican primary in the same district: Scott Singer 11,896 (31.40%) over George Moraitis 27.41%, Dan Franzese 25.63%, Joseph Kaufman 12.41%, Raven Harrison 3.15%, on 37,885 ballots. This resolves the corpus’s district-number contradiction: the official summary lists the Moskowitz–Larkin race under “District: 25” and the extract codes it Juris1num 025. The Hill’s “23rd” was Moskowitz’s pre-redistricting number.
Turnout. Statewide, 3,389,929 of 13,417,844 registered voters cast ballots, 25.3%, all parties combined; the site does not publish a per-party turnout figure. The three FL-25 counties ran below the state average (Broward 20.5%, Miami-Dade 19.0%, Palm Beach 24.3%).
A caution on the site’s combined-party “Federal Offices” summary page: it lists Senate candidate totals roughly double the county sums (Nixon 1,411,670; Vindman 1,106,276; percentages computed against a pooled all-party denominator). The data extract, which sums to the DDHQ near-final figures, is authoritative here.
Key Claims
- Senate (D): Nixon 56.06% / Vindman 43.94%; 1,258,973 votes; margin 12.1 points.
- Senate (R): Moody 79.56% on 1,660,013 votes; Republican Senate-primary ballots exceeded Democratic by ~401,000.
- Nixon won Broward, Miami-Dade, Hillsborough, Orange, Pinellas (52.0%), Leon (62.4%), and Duval (80.2%); Vindman won Palm Beach (55.4%).
- FL-25 (D): Moskowitz 63.48% / Larkin 36.52%; 44,631 votes; margin 27.0 points.
- FL-25 (R): Singer 31.40% in a five-way race on 37,885 votes.
- The Moskowitz–Larkin race is officially District 25 (resolves the 23-vs-25 contradiction).
- Statewide turnout 25.3% (3,389,929 of 13,417,844), all parties.
- The FL-25 Democratic primary drew fewer ballots in total (44,631) than Nixon alone received in Duval County (55,079): the House test was a small-electorate contest.
Direct quotes worth preserving
“August 18, 2026 Primary Election — Official Results — United States Representative — District: 25 — Oliver Adams Larkin — Jared Moskowitz” — Florida Division of Elections, federal offices summary page
Why citable: the state’s own listing settles the district number that three news outlets reported inconsistently.
“Voter Registration and Turnout … Total 13,417,844 — 3,389,929 — 25.3%” — Florida Division of Elections, turnout report
Why citable: the official denominator for any claim about the size of the electorate that nominated a democratic socialist for Senate.

Contradictions / Tensions
- Resolves: The Hill’s “Florida’s 23rd Congressional District” (Moskowitz taunts Piker after primary win) versus HuffPost/JTA’s 25th. Official: 25th.
- Confirms The Hill’s 63.5–36.5 and JTA’s ~64–36 for the House race; supplies the missing Senate margin that Democratic socialist Angie Nixon scores upset in Florida's Democratic Senate primary lacked.
- DDHQ’s near-final tallies (705,439 / 552,942, “>95%” counted) are ~400 votes below the official figures; percentages identical to two decimals.
- Internal: the site’s pooled summary page double-counts Senate votes; use the extract.
Notes
Retrieved to close the “margin/turnout not in corpus” gap flagged on the Nixon event and entity pages and the overview. Official pages are neutral; the interpretation (Nixon’s 12-point win was decisive but on a primary electorate a quarter the size of the state’s registered voters; the Republican Senate primary drew more ballots) belongs in Does socialism win elections in America?.
